Eureka Church is once again sending out the faithful into the mission field!

Pastor Anita Genrich, Steve Nankervis and Emily from the Eureka UMC will be heading up the return Mission Trip in February 2015.  Rev. Becky Heinke and Dave Heinke from Janesville area will be on the team. Dave Walker – our African well expert and African traveler from Virginia will be joining us too.  We have room for 2 others to join the team.  In 2013, we were called to dig a well in the refugee community of Goshen Blessings in West Central Uganda.  God provided funding for two wells, in the process of being completed.

In 2015 – we have been called to build a 7-room school in the refugee area called Gaspa – School of Good Hope.  They are currently serving 300 + grade school students – many without biological parents, with no facilities other than banboo shoots, mud and tin.  Headmaster, Annette, asked us in 2013 to come back and build her a school. The land has been gifted to them.

What can you do to help?

  • PRAY – God will make it clear as to how you can be a part of this effort
  • LOOK – There is treasure all around us, buried treasure of junk
  • ASK – Ask individuals if they would be willing to give their discarded metal to help build a school.  Donations of any kind are appreciated.

Jesus said“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”  Luke 11: 9-10 (NIV)

The Eureka UMC will be the Non-profit, faith based organization that will facilitate the collection and disbursements of the money for the school.   Pastor Anita is working with Bishop Nelson Wesamoyo and Pastor Robert Masada in Uganda on this project.

The Eureka Youth for Christ (MS/HS) youth, are taking on this project as a way to respond to God’s call to go and serve the least and spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ – God’ s love is for ALL people.   Jesus said,  40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ (Matthew 25:40)

The Youth Leaders at Eureka UMC will come with the youth to help pick up your metal donations and get a good price for them at a salvage yard.  You will receive a thank you note with the value of what you have given for your tax purposes.  Call and let us know when we could come haul your gifts for the school.

Slates 4 a School

Annette Khainza,
Head Mistress of the School of Good Hope in Gaspa, Uganda, has placed her hope in God to use Eureka, the surrounding area, and other faith communities in Wisconsin to help answer her prayer.  She needs a permanent school for the children (300+) nursery/primary.  The Psalmist, David wrote in Psalm 33: 20-21:

20 We wait in hope for the Lord;
he is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name

The Youth of Eureka are responding by listening to God to “Do Something! “ (Matthew West’s new song)
